Two-month-old Rowa arrived back in Jordan tonight following her emergency heart surgery in Israel. Rowa was born with severe coarctation of the aorta, and the treating doctors at the Wolfson Medical Center believe she would have died if she hadn't arrived for treatment when she did. Her condition has now been successfully corrected.

Rowa is the first child that we've been able to refer directly from Jordan. While excellent medical care is also available there, many families are unable to meet the costs.

Rowa was accompanied to Israel by her mother, Maisa, and her grandfather, Abu Marwan. Tonight Abu Marwan told us he witnessed no discrimination in the hospital toward Arab patients. "They treated the children from Gaza and the West Bank better than they treated their own," he said. "Everything was excellent."

Rowa's relatives in Amman added that when they told their neighbors what was happening, "they couldn't believe it."

Abu Marwan himself had dental care in Israel and, when he told hospital staff that he needed medication for a prostate condition, was "within 30 minutes in the hospital director's office where they handed me the package." How very much it means to the Arab people when they are honored and respected by their Jewish neighbors!

Please join us in praising God for the redemption of this precious baby's life, and also in intercession for healing of the broken relationship between Jews and Arabs.

"But Esau ran to meet Jacob, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept." (Genesis 33:4)
