Little Hassan and his mother got the news they were hoping for today when they were dismissed to go back to their Gaza home. Hassan appears happy all the time, and is generous with his cute smiles. His mother was very excited to be able to go home, and thankful for the help she's received. We were glad to help them return to the border late this afternoon, and watch them cross easily into the terminal to get to their waiting family on the other side. Thank God with us for the new life ahead of this precious little boy.
Hassan had his surgery on Thursday and is on his way to a successful recovery. As I walked into the ICU it was impossible to ignore his mothers beaming smile. She waved me over to his bed and chattered away in Arabic with joy-filled eyes.
She traced his healthy plump pink lips and expressed her joy that they were no longer blue. She couldnt stop touching his little face and never inched away from his side. Little Hassan very contentedly kept his beautiful brown eyes fixed on his mother and gently held onto her hand.
Lets keep praying that his recovery will continue on such a positive path!
Today we were honored to welcome a new Gaza patient into Wolfson Hospital. Baby Hassan was bright eyed and understandingly frightened as he made his way through his admitting process. After a few procedural pricks, it was clear both Hassan and his mom were happy to get settled into their hospital room. Once in the room, it did not take long for Hassan to snuggle in his mother's arms and fall fast asleep.
The following days will be tough for this little man as he prepares for his heart surgery. Let's remember to lift both Hassen and his mother up to the Lord in prayer as they approach the surgery date.
