Two-year-old Malak from Gaza is waiting in Wolfson Medical Center in Tel Aviv for surgery to correct an Atrial Septal Defect. We visited her and her mother today who seemed happy and confident in the doctors and surgeons.
Malak was sleeping soundly when we first went into the room, but later we found she was very full of energy and could hardly be contained by her crib. After speaking with the doctor this morning we learned that if everything goes according to schedule, Malak will undergo the open-heart surgery sometime next week.
