Our words are very short, and there is much more to tell.
“You are never too old to learn,” we say in Holland. And how we learned a lot at Shevet Achim during our three months there.
What is Shevet Achim about?
Aad says: It is about driving a vehicle, and helping a mother or father with a child; about bringing them to the hospitals in Tel Aviv, and back to Jerusalem, or to and from the borders of Gaza or Jordan.
This is just what we have to do: sharing our love for God to them!
Ingrid says:
It is about God and people during the bible studies
About working together as colleagues and helpers
About the love of kids from Kurdistan or Gaza, so pure!
About stretched out arms of children after operation, because they love and trust you
About the first smile after their “coma period,” the kiss and wave of hands as a child understands that you must leave.
We miss them already!
