Today, almost a week after the catheterization to treat her pulmonary stenosis, Salli was discharged from Sheba hospital. Coworker Julio and I drove her and her sweet grandmother back to Gaza to be reunited with her family.
Praise God for his intervention and healing in this little girl’s life!
Salli had the appointment for the interventional catheterization today at Sheba hospital. The doctors widened her valves.
During the cath, the doctors noticed an irregular heart rate and they corrected it with an electric shock, then everything was fine. Salli is in the ICU now. She will have some assessments like a blood test to see how her condition develops. She is still intubated for now. The doctor said it could be a long process for Salli.
Salli’s grandma was very calm during the cath but afterwards became stressed as she had a difficult time communicating due to language barriers. The doctor came by after a few minutes and explained everything in Arabic for her as well as for Salli’s mother on the phone.
Salli is a newborn from Gaza who arrived to Sheba hospital over the weekend. Salli is escorted by her grandmother.
Salli, dearly loved as the first daughter to her mother and father, was diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis. She will likely need an interventional catheterization to treat this defect, possibly this week.
Please be praying for Salli as she goes through the treatment, and thank God for the courage and devotion of Salli’s grandma who has taken on the responsibility to care for her granddaughter in the stead of Salli’s parents.
