Somaia is still having to grow a little bit. The doctors at Sheba Hospital encouraged us to hold her and show her more love. They said that it would be very good for her to have more connection with people.

So today, when coworker Esther and I walked in Somaia’s room, we hugged her and gave her much attention. After that, we asked Somaia’s mother if we could pray for Somaia in the name of ‘Isa,’ which is the name of Jesus in Arabic. So she accepted, and while I was praying, I could not hold back and broke up in tears, which Somaia’s mum promptly dabbed dry with a tissue. I felt a strong connection with her.
