I had the pleasure of meeting tiny Omar from Gaza today. He is just over two weeks old and has come to Israel with his brave mother.
His mother told me that this is her first baby. As soon as he was born, she knew there was a problem with him, he was blue, and she just knew. So the soul of the mother knows the child she carried for nine months. We looked at him together and she burst out proudly exclaiming how beautiful he is.
Omar was diagnosed with TGA and pulmonary atresia in Gaza, and spent some time in the hospital there before being transferred urgently to the hospital in Israel on the weekend, with the hope of a life saving surgery.
This lovely mother was finding her bearings in the hospital, and thanking God that for now, Omar is stable and waiting for the doctors to finalize a plan for surgery for him.
Please pray for this new mother, and her baby.
