Hope for premature Abed in Israel

Abed was born two months premature in the Gaza Strip, and immediately put on a respirator due to respiratory distress. After two weeks doctors were able to wean him from this breathing support, but when he was still cyanosed an echocardiogram was performed which revealed his congenital heart defect, a severe narrowing of the aorta.

Doctors have agreed to accept him for emergency transfer to Israel on Sunday.
