Samaa had surgery today at Sheba hospital, beginning at 8 a.m. Her mother was surrounded by all the friends she traveled with to help the five or so hours to pass as easily as possible. She coped beautifully, although was feeling nervous for her only daughter Samaa.
Generously, Samaa’s mother went to lend her support to one of the other Kurdish mothers, whose child is not in such a good condition after her surgery. It is touching to see her looking to the needs of others, even when she could have today to be just about the well being of Samaa.
Samaa’s surgery was successful. Already by the time I am writing this update in the evening, we have heard that Samaa has been extubated. Thank God for this good outcome for Samaa today.
