A Hope to the Hopeless

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfastness love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end” Lamentations 3:21-22

Please pray these verses over little Riham and her mum. The situation in the hospital seems increasingly hopeless as each day passes. Today, Riham’s fever has gone down, but her mum cried and said how every part of Riham now has a problem. She sees that Riham’s brain is damaged, so causing these constant hyper-tonic writhing movements throughout her body. Her stiff little legs were tensed up in the air, cold and scissoring together. Her hands remained tightly clasped in fists at her chest.

The damage to her brain also has caused her to be presenting with a visual impairment, and swallowing difficulties.

Then today, Riham’s mum showed me that her torso is significantly swollen over the area where her pacemaker is. The doctor came in to see this and was concerned. He left to arrange some further assessment of this. Mum was crying today, saying she wants to take Riham and go back home. She is feeling so hopeless.

But we must continue to pray in this situation, that God our good Father and healer will have His way. His hand is not shortened, and as we know Him to be our great hope and salvation, please intercede for this little family for the best outcome for Riham. He is our hope, when it all seems so hopeless. His steadfast love never fails.
