Mariam finally had a catheterisation this morning, which was postponed due to her having Coronavirus. Mum told me that neither she not Miriam had any symptoms during this time, which is good to know, as Mariam is potentially quite vulnerable.
The catheterisation went ahead as planned this morning, and by the time she was wheeled back to the unit, she was already waking up! It was sweet to watch her becoming mesmerised by my waving fingers. Mum explained that this isn’t the end of the road yet for Mariam; she is expecting further interventions in the near future. I know it must be a difficult time for her mum, but she is handling everything very bravely.
The doctor said that they need to wait and see how Mariam is, and later decide about when she might be discharged back to Gaza.
