Arriving in Israel on Holiday Eve

Doctors in Gaza contacted us urgently Thursday, the day Sanad was born. Echo exam showed the pulmonary valve of her heart was not working. She was living off the tiny ductus in the heart which closes shortly after birth.

Sanad was given a special medication to keep the ductus open, while we searched for a place for her in Israel. This morning the Sheba Medical Center informed us they could accept her, and thank God after close cooperation between authorities in Gaza and Israel, a Magen David Adom ICU ambulance brought Sanad safely to Sheba.

Sanad reached Israel just as the long Shabbat/Shavuot holiday weekend was beginning. We thank God she made it just in time.
