Art therapy

One of the cardiologists told me this morning that his wife works as an art therapist here at the hospital, and that she would like to visit with Asmaa. I was so happy to hear about this, and very pleased to go together to see Asmaa. It has been a really long time since I have been able to spend time with Asmaa due to the corona virus restrictions, and she has been inside the hospital all of this time.

Asmaa was overjoyed with what the art therapist brought; felt tip pens and stickers are right up her street, and she squealed and jumped about in excitement. It was so lovely to see her. She played with the colours and pretended that she had drawn oranges and lemons to eat. It was a very special time.

The time was rounded off with some wonderful news from the doctor, that finally Asmaa’s blood test has come back with a good result! They would like to perform another test tomorrow and if this is good, then she will be able to come home!
