Everything depends on the heart

Today co-worker Carina and I went to the ICU of Sheba Hospital to visit Alaa. We met a very friendly and helpful nurse who gave us some information about his current condition.

She pronounced again that his state is critical and not good. They were hoping to take him off the ECMO machine, but until now it wasn’t possible. They are hoping they will be able to do it after the weekend.

We hope and pray for him, too. Today they started also a hemofiltration because his kidneys aren’t able to work enough. That‘s a result of his weak heart, the nurse told us. When the heart is not working properly, other organ begin to worsen.

Please pray that God will sustain Alaa’s body and grant him a new and strengthened heart.
