Exceeded expectations

My wife Anna and I were very grateful to be scheduled for picking up a new Gaza-child, the three-month-old girl Mina. After seven lockdown weeks inside our base in Jaffa, it was a welcome variety to drive to Erez Checkpoint.

In the morning, it was not completely clear what her condition would be when we met her. Does she need extra oxygen or not? Will she arrive with the emergency ambulance or not? So we prepared ourselves for a difficult transportation, but it was much better than we expected.

She and her lovely mum were in a very good condition and after a short health-check, we were able to start our way to Sheba Medical Center.

Minat is a beautiful girl. She has such pretty dark eyes and cute little earrings, but her heart is not working properly. The Doctors in Gaza diagnosed a large hole in her atrium, severe coarctation of the aorta, and  pulmonary hypertension.

After a (hopefully) negative corona test, the Sheba doctors can start with the first urgent examinations. So let’s pray for this wonderful little girl and her probably long, and difficult way to a healthy life. But it’s also my prayer, how the psalmist has it written:

“Create in me a clean heart, God, and renew a right spirit within me!” Psalm 51,12 –

A prayer for Minat, for me and Anna, and for every reader of this blog. He will exceed our expectations!
