Extubation tomorrow

When we visited Maryam at Sheba Hospital today, the doctors joyfully told us they were able to close Maryam’s chest yesterday and that she is stable. They plan to remove her intubation tube tomorrow also.  After this great news, the head doctor of the ICU told me a short anecdote that his grandfather shared with him, “If you want to make God laugh, you just have to make plans for the future.”

Even though we can’t make plans for the future, God exactly knows what is going to happen, so join us in prayer for Maryam. We pray that she remains stable and the extubation tomorrow will be successful.

One of the few Arabic words I know so far is, “Inshallah.” It means “God willing,” which fits perfectly in Maryam’s situation.
