Samaa looked beautiful to come to her first appointment at Sheba hospital. There were a lot of other Kurdish families there to meet. As predicted by her mother, she did not enjoy herself in the echo and in fact cried so much that she needed to be sedated to help doctors obtain needed images.
It was a long, full day for Samaa and she found each part to be upsetting; the echo, ECG, blood test and X-ray.
But the day is done now and she and her mother are back at our home in Jaffa, taking some rest. We will wait to hear what the decisions were made by the medical team regarding her future surgery.
