When I arrived early this morning at the hospital Machmoud’s great aunt greeted me with a big smile and told me they will go home to Gaza today. And indeed once I walked into the ICU a doctor directly asked me if I’m here for his discharge. We needed to wait some hours until the report was done and all the medications were prepared and then a nurse took Machmoud on her arms and took him for a little farewell walk through the ICU. He is a very cute baby and we’re gonna miss him and his aunt very much. In one month Machmoud will come back for another echo and we pray he will stay safe back in Gaza in the meantime!
