It was a pleasure to spend the day with Halbast and his mum. She is really pleasant company and as it was quite a long day, we enjoyed it slowly with chatting texting, eating, taking pictures and generally hanging out. One of the doctors said we looked like sisters, and we both enjoyed this news as well!
Halbast was also wonderful the entire day. Since he has recovered from his surgery, he always has a very good disposition with lots of energy to wave and smile at everyone. He has now realised how flexible he is and can fling his leg right up to his head. This has the added benefit that he is able to try and eat his shoe, so it was very enjoyable for him, to the dismay of his mum!
His cardiologist seemed excited to tell us that the echo and blood test were very good, and particularly she was very enthusiastic about the beautiful surgery he has had. There is still some fluid in one side of the chest, but thank God that he is responding well to the medication treatment and special diet. When the fluid is definitely steadily decreasing, she will be happy to discharge him back to Kurdistan, and hopefully it won’t be too long before they can be reunited with the rest of the family.
