Growing up

Our special boy Mohaned came from Gaza to Sheba for a check-up today.

It was, as always, a wonderful pleasure to see him and his mother. She is so friendly, and helped the other Gaza mothers whom we collected, to feel at ease with the daunting task of coming out of their home, and assimilating into Israel.

Mohaned, as usual, hated the echo and all assessments, despite the technician’s best efforts to coax him with bubbles and a Spiderman video to watch. A video call with his father helped him to calm down so that the assessment could go ahead.

Thankfully, the cardiologist found him to be in a relatively good condition, and she reminded the mother that his health is not only impacted by his heart condition, but also his respiratory system abnormality, so encouraged her to be doing the chest physio exercises very often.

We waited together for another family to be ready before returning to Gaza;  Mohaned and his mother never expressing a hint of complaint about the long wait. It is so good to be in the company of someone with such a sweet and gentle spirit.

Please keep praying for God’s blessing over Mohaned and his family.
