Hope for Alma in Jerusalem

Alma was born a week ago in the Gaza Strip, just after the conclusion of the intense fighting with Israel. She was blue after birth, and an echo revealed the great arteries of her heart are transposed (reversed). This means her heart is pumping blue blood out to her body instead of red.

Alma can have a normal life if she has emergency surgery, available for her only in Israel, to switch the arteries back to their natural position. Thank God, Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem agreed to accept her urgently, and she will be transferred there by ICU ambulance tonight.
