Today, coworker Joanne and I visited Somaia and her mother at the Sheba Hospital ICU. It’s always very special to visit Somaia because there is always a good atmosphere in her room. The way her mother and, before that, her aunt communicated with her is certainly an important reason why Somaia is where she is today.
Whether it’s counting in Arabic and Hebrew, with Somaia flexing her tiny fingers, or constantly being appealed by her nickname, “Sim Sim”.
Today we watched pictures with Somaia’s mother that were taken shortly after Somaia’s birth. At that point, the chances of survival were not good. It is all the greater to see how God has led her on her hard path and that she has grown so much in the meantime. Praise be to the Lord!
