Tonight, Lawi was called into hospital ahead of his operation tomorrow. A small crowd of Kurdish mothers gathered to wave off Lawi and his mother, everyone sharing in her apprehension and excitement together. The love of this big family is so beautiful; every moment is shared and tonight was no exception.
Colin followed us out to the car and prayed over Lawi and his mother before we left. Lawi’s mum seemed to find great encouragement and comfort in this. I felt a real sense of peace as we entrusted Lawi in God’s hands together.
Psalm 113 says “Who can be compared with the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth”
I love the image painted here. In all his glory and majesty, God cares about each person and situation here on Earth. In fact he’s deliberate about it. Right now, he’s “stooping down,” not letting Lawi leave His sight for a single moment.
Join us tonight as we entrust Lawi into the hand of our loving father.
