When coworker Lena and I visited Maryam at Sheba Hospital today, we were stunned at how weak she looked, but also amazed how she tries very hard to breathe on her own.
The doctors extubated her today to see how she will be doing by herself. Because she is still very weak, she got some help with medication. They also want to keep an eye on her and decide in the next hours if they have to intubate her again.
