Today was the day for Minat to be discharged from Sheba hospital. Her mother kissed goodbye to a large group of other mothers, aunties and grandmas (also from Gaza) who have become her family in the hospital over these weeks.
It was a big blessing to hear from the doctor that as her condition has improved, they have been able to discontinue one of her complicated and expensive medications which would need to be given as an injection twice a day; it makes things better for everyone involved!
Minat is a beautiful baby, and was very content on the car journey home, making lovely noises. It’s not possible for them to return to Gaza yet due to coronavirus restrictions. Therefore she and her mum are going to be staying at our home in Jaffa during the time of her follow-up appointments.
