Pacemaker follow-up

Today young Amir returned to Sheba Hospital for his pacemaker follow-up.

I haven’t seen Amir since his last pacemaker examination several months ago; and although then he was so shy that he could barely look at me, this time he was more eager to engage, smiling widely and even telling me a couple things as we waited for his appointment.

The appointment itself revealed nothing unexpected. Amir’s battery will have to be changed in the next few months and it’s merely a matter of finding the right time to do so. He will also have to have some dental work done in the meantime, and his father has been having trouble finding a dentist willing to work with a pacemaker patient.

Pray that they’ll find a road forward and that Amir will remain well and stable until his pacemaker battery change!
