Sanad’s Pacemaker Clinic

After a long delay from the turmoil of our current situation here in Israel and the West Bank, we finally got two West Bank kids into Israel today for pacemaker check-ups at Sheba Hospital. I had the pleasure of hanging out with one of these little boys, who was named Sanad. He was a lively, happy, loud, and mischievous boy, at first shy but warming up quickly. The doctor checked his pacemaker and said that all is well with it, but did think he should get to a cardiology clinic soon.

Afterwards, while we waited for their ride to come, we played with another Kurdish child, and he snuck snacks out of his mom’s bag. He was not very discreet about it, and his mom did not care anyway, I think he just liked the challenge of it.

Hopefully we will see Sanad back soon for an echo, and we can look at where he will go from then on.
