Saving Soso on the holiday eve

Soso’s parents in the southern Gaza Strip noticed that the newborn girl wasn’t feeding well. When they went to the doctor, he recommended an echocardiogram which revealed congenital heart defects, including a severe narrowing of the aorta through which life-giving blood must pass. Soso was immediately hospitalized in the ICU and her doctor asked for a top-urgent referral to Israel, the only hospital within reach to save her.

On the eve of Yom Kippur doctors in Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem have agreed to accept Soso and fight for her life over the holiday.
