Salwa is such a content baby, getting more and more smiley as the days pass on. Today she was admitted to Sheba hospital for a surgery tomorrow. It looks like the doctors can perform an arterial switch surgery, without the need for the preliminary banding procedure which has been done on many infants of Salwa’s age. Her mum is feeling a bit out of her depth in the hospital, but thankfully she is in the same room as Samaa and her mum, another Kurdish family. The shared common language of Arabic is a nice support for Salwa’s mum. We are looking forward to rejoining this patient, kind mother tomorrow morning as little Salwa goes in for her big surgery at 8 a.m.
