Today coworker Petra and I visited Somaia in her Pediatric cardiac ICU of Sheba Hospital. She looked better than last week, the last time I saw her.
Today she was awake, and moved a lot. Her tracheostomy is helping her to breathe since her lungs are not strong enough to breathe on her own. Still she seemed to have some difficulty with breathing occasionally, twisting her face and turning it red. While I was patting her and praying in my heart, she stared at me sometimes.
Meanwhile, Somaia’s mom has shown her care to all of us volunteers. When coworkers Esther, Petra, and I were waiting for the surgery of another little girl, she offered us nuts, apples, pastries, and more.
Let’s pray that the Lord Almighty may reward this mother’s generosity with blessings, and that He may help tiny, precious Somaia to breathe smoothly, and keep her stable.
