Step by step

This morning, we found Liya surrounded by doctors and nurses getting ready to move her from her room. Her mom met us at the door and explained that she was on the way to a brain MRI to see how she is recovering after the treatment on Thursday evening to treat the air bubbles in her brain.

Liya is slowly improving since the difficult events of last Thursday. On Thursday evening, she was receiving the maximum treatment available for her unstable blood pressure and oxygen saturations. As of today however, her inotropic support has been decreased and she is still stable. This morning the doctors stopped her sedation and she woke up and opened her eyes, which is a good sign.

She still has a long way to go, but we are grateful for these little steps in the right direction.
