In the car ride home, as her mother happily filmed our journey, Adleen was very chatty to let us know that she was enjoying herself very much. It was really a pleasure to be in their company, and to deliver them to our Shevet home to all the other Kurdish families waiting there who greeted them both with excitement and shared joy that they are returned.
I collected Adleen and her mum from the hospital today, around one week after her surgery. Adleen’s mum was very happy to come home and thanked God, me, the hospital staff; everyone she saw, as she was so grateful and pleased that Adleen’s successful surgery is behind her. As we walked to the lifts together, she breathed a big sigh of relief.
Adleen will come back in a week’s time for an echo.
