Waiting on the Lord

Although Eva has been successfully removed from ECMO and her chest is closed, she still is very slow to show signs of recovery. Every time the doctors try and lower her medications, her vital signs fluctuate to an uncomfortable and even dangerous degree; her body isn’t getting worse, praise God, but it’s proving very slow to get better.

But there is also good news that Eva is showing some signs of responsiveness now that she’s not on the ECMO anymore; her eyelids flitter and her arms move a bit. This is good news; at the very least, it tells us that there’s probably no major brain damage.

Her mother remains discouraged; and indeed, it is a painfully slow rate of progress with little certainty. We pray for both Eva and her mother, that the Lord will bring full healing and restoration. There remains nothing to do now but wait.
