A big day for Zaed today as he was discharged from the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. After having had his emergency surgery last Wednesday, Co-worker Margarita wrote in that blog that his recovery was quick.
Praise God who has been faithful and who continued to bless little Zaed so that he could recover quickly, and go back to Gaza today.
When I came to pick him and his mother up to take them to the Gaza border crossing, there were two kind and helpful nurses who came with us to bring their bags to the car and to say goodbye.
Thanks for all your prayers and thanks to God who answered them!
We took baby Zaed to Hadassah Hospital on January 7th for admission, and his surgery was performed on January 10th. The surgery was five hours in duration and was satisfactory according to his doctors, thank God. In the mean time, I was able to pray for Zaed’s mom; she was grateful for the support.
However last night, we received a notification that Zaed was bleeding and needed to go back to surgery at midnight. Today, I was visiting them again and he is recovering very well. I had the opportunity to talk to his doctor who said baby Zaed is showing a fast recovery, thank the Lord.
So I got together with Zaed’s mom and the baby, praising God for His goodness! I am grateful to God for allowing me to be a part of this process, and for opening the heart of Zaed’s mom who let me pray for her.
Let us keep praying for a full and smooth recovery. Shalom to all of you!
Zaed entered the surgery room at 8 AM and the surgery started at 11 AM. Every hour they came out to report that everything is fine thanks to the Lord. The mother after waiting so long was worried. I prayed with her and she told me she is very grateful for being by her side, and supporting her. We know and I always tell her that all the glory and honor is for the Lord. And two hours later Zaed was back with us in the ICU!
After waiting in our Jerusalem guesthouse for a couple of weeks, today Zaed and mother from Gaza climbed aboard the bus and were off to Hadassah Hospital for his second heart surgery!
The medical staff kindly checked them in and told us all is ready for his surgery Sunday morning. Please pray for this beautiful and cheerful little guy.
When co-worker Margarita and I came to the Hadassah ICU today, we received the good news from a smiling nurse that Zaed had been moved to another floor because of his progress.
When we found the right place, we had to wait a while because they were in the process of an Echo for him. When was rolled back in his mobile crib, it was such a relief to see him again. It was hard to think it was the same baby we had visited a while ago. My innermost rejoiced over this adorable boy. A few hours later, he was released from the hospital.
The doctor said that Zaed has a new appointment in September to check up how he is doing. Those tests will decide if he needs more treatments. But right now, he is going back to Gaza to be in quarantine for three weeks.
I thank God for Zaed’s improvement, and for all the love he has received through the marvellous medical staff. They are doing a wonderful job with all these sick children, and Zaed is one of them. Please continue to carry him and his family in prayer, and remember to lift up in prayer all the staff in the hospital also.
Zaed looks much better today, his mom also looks less tired, even though I saw her nod off a bit; she’s more restful and happy.
Baby Zaed is now under less sedation as they are decreasing his meds slowly. Today he opened his eyes and also smiled, that also makes my heart happy.
Some days ago this small one was without life expectations and today is completely different. It is a powerful thing to be part of this, how great is God.
You can also be part of this with your prayers, please pray for this young mother, God strengthen her during this time, life in a hospital can be so tiring. Pray for her little baby (one year old) at home; pray for Zaed as well, for a faster recovery!
Our coworker Yousef today found Zaed recovering well from his surgery. Prof. Erez, the surgeon, told us that the result of the surgery is excellent, thank God.
The day started early in the morning for this small baby, at 8:20 approximately he was being moved to the surgery room of Hadassah Hospital. His mom looked tired but expectant for a good result, she is a quiet person and not very talkative, maybe due to our language barrier.
This barrier sometimes makes communication more complicated, but we always try to find the way using technology. I invited her for a small walk at the hospital’s park. While at the park, after a few minutes, she wanted to come back to the waiting room. I explained to her that the doctor would call me if there was any news, as they do call every hour to let us know what is happening, which is awesome, – still she felt more comfortable in the waiting room.
We waited for approximately eight hours. The last message I received came in Hebrew which I then translated, letting us know that the surgery was already finished.
Zaed was moved to the ICU. He is stable and will be under sedation for a while; the surgery was complicated because our little baby has a complex diagnosis. The doctor also mentioned that Zaed’s liver and pancreas are placed in the opposite side of his body. He will be under sedation for a while to wait for his body’s response.
Please keep praying for this baby and his mom. They are needing it urgently.
The setting is Hadassah Hospital in Ein Karem. I entered Zaed’s hospital room, stunned by the peace that filled the place.
Zaed is a little boy who entered our world from Gaza just a couple of days ago. He is now safely hospitalized at Hadassah. This whole process and possibility just fills me with gratitude, because he is so precious in the eyes of God.
The doctors are checking his fragile little body carefully to be sure they will give him the right treatment. His young mother seemed to be in a good mood, but very tired. Please lift up little baby Zaed in your prayers, and also his family.
Late last night we welcomed our newest arrival to Hadassah hospital: three-day-old little Zaed.
Doctors and nurses fought for the life of this little boy for hours on end yesterday, as there were many boundaries preventing him from coming in a timely manner. Even as he already had permission, there were struggles with getting him out of the hospital in Gaza and into the ambulance. Praise the Lord, finally at 10 pm last night, he safely arrived at Hadassah. The team at the hospital was gracious enough to give of their time to get him set up and stabilized in his room.
It seems that Zaed has a very complicated heart and possibly even problems in his lungs as well. The doctors are planning to do more tests in the coming days to get a full picture and understanding of which surgery would be best for this little boy. Please also pray for his family as they have another young one at home and the mother has just recently given birth and is now sitting in the hospital by her son’s side.
We are so thankful for the Lord fighting these battles for precious Zaed and we know He has wonderful plans in place for him. Please join with us in prayer for the doctors to have wisdom as they look at the best plan of care for Zaed.
