Esraa's Heart Surgery

Great news!

Today we went to the hospital with Alexa and Miriam to accompany Esraa and her uncle for her appointment. She arrived to Israel yesterday. Today we expected that she was only going to do initial assessment and testing but we got great news: already tomorrow she will have her cath which will hopefully fix her heart problems! This means a complete open-heart surgery may be unnecessary!
It's amazing how she could arrive yesterday and after only two days she is getting the cardiac procedure she traveled all the way to Israel for.
Esraa was very shy when we first met her this morning. We can only imagine how she feels meeting all these strangers. Sadly we don't speak Arabic but we managed to talk a bit through weird moves and hand signs. By the end of the day she even sat on Dagmar's lap and had pictures taken with both of us.
We thank God for this wonderful news and ask you to pray for her cath procedure tomorrow.

Beautiful six-year-old Esraa has a large hole between the atria of her heart (ASD). If not closed, she will not be able to grow into adulthood and have hope of a normal life.
She has an older sister and two younger brothers. Their young family fled Syria in 2013.
