Saraj and Ghadeer say they are grateful for the help they received from local cardiac pediatrician Dr. Abu Jarad and Brother's Together in connecting them with Save a Child's Heart in Israel. Without this help, their son Ez Eldeen may not be with them today. His mother Saraj explains, "From the time Ez was only one week old he started having repeated cyanotic episodes. I had already lost two babies before they were born, and I was so afraid of losing Ez Eldeen too."

On the 31st of October 2010, at only 40 days old, Ez was admitted to Wolfson Medical Center for a cardiac evaluation. He was diagnosed with a congenital heart problem known as Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). "I was 28 days in the hospital with Ez," recalls Ghadeer. "I am so thankful that my aunt lived in Israel and came to visit often. It would have been such a long, difficult time if she had not been with me."

Just one week after being admitted, Ez underwent a six-hour operation to repair the defect in his heart. It was a day that his mother still vividly remembers: "Another child had just died, which made me more afraid than I probably would have been. Each hour seemed like a day and I felt that I wouldn't survive until it ended."
