Help Noor

Again to Sheba!

When I received the news that Noor was again admitted in the hospital for her cauterization, I was very happy. I could see that her grandmother was full of joy that Noor would finally have her procedure! However, we had to wait about two hours at Shevet Achim to receive confirmation that Noor could be admitted. When I went to the their room and told them that we were going to the hospital, they got ready so fast.

We enjoyed the trip to the hospital in the car singing songs with Noor, in different languages. Noor enjoyed all of them, but the one she enjoyed the most was the Kurdish song I put on as she smiled with great emotion!

We finally got to the hospital, but we had another long wait. At last a nurse came to us and told us we could enter the room! We helped to get Noor settled in and I said goodbye to her grandmother and Noor. We hope that tomorrow they will perform her diagnostic cath. Please pray that the procedure will take place tomorrow and that God will give wisdom to the medical team for the plan ahead.

Noor and her grandma were waiting for Noor's catherization which was supposed to be at one or two p.m. But then the doctor came and told the Grandma that the catherization is not possible today because of an emergency baby. Noor's grandma was really sad and felt neglected. After lunch the nurses prepared Noor to come back to Shevet. So Noor will stay the weekend at Shevet. Hopefully she will have her catherization next week. Please pray for Noor that tthe catherization can be done next week.

Admitted for Cath

After waiting for almost one month Noor was admitted today for a catheterisation. We had to wait a few hours before a bed was made free. Noor didn't mind. She is a happy girl and was playing and wondering around. Grandma is so sweet and is a mother to her. The doctor saw her and explained to Mom what they will do. She also needed an x-ray.

Tomorrow there will be a diagnostic catherisation and than the big operation will be scheduled. Noor is attached to her pillow and everywhere she is going her pillow will follow her. Let's pray that she and Grandma are in peace and that they may trust in our Lord and Savior.

Second Appointment

Posted on Wed, 10/10/2018 - 14:17 by Svea Conzelmann

Today, Noor had her second appointment. In order to get very specific results about her cardiac function, the doctors wanted to perform another echo. This time we walked straight to the ICU and they did the echo under sedation. Noor is such a lovely and alert child. You really get the feeling that she experiences all the different situations in a very detailed way.

It is also so moving to see her grandmother looking after Noor with such an overwhelming love. Noor’s grandmother hoped the surgery will take place soon, so she could stay in the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors first have to talk about the results of her echo, after that decide which type of operation she needs and then plan the date of her surgery. So, Noor and her grandmother are now back home at Shevet and wait for a schedule of her surgery.

Please pray for Noor's grandmother, an impressive woman, to be patient once more and that she can find hope again. Thank you!

Welcome, Noor!

Noor had her first echo appointment today. She is very averse to the medical procedures they must do and cried a lot, but her grandmother was wonderful in getting Noor to cooperate. It's evident that she loves Noor so much!

The doctors took a very detailed look at Noor's heart. It appears that she has DORV with VSD, stenosis and a weak left ventricle, possibly amongst other things. The doctor was very nice and explained some of this to us. Interestingly, Noor does not show any signs of cyanosis and her oxygen saturation is almost 100%.

In addition, we had our new volunteer Julio with us who speaks fluent Kurdish and English. It was a real blessing as he could communicate with the moms flawlessly.

As you can tell from the photos, Noor is a lovely and adorable girl; we pray that her heart will be perfectly restored. Sheba Hospital will call regarding next steps for Noor. In the meantime, we are very blessed to have her in the Shevet community.
