Aya 's Heart Surgery

the Gaza Strip

Catheterization Postponed

Aya was scheduled for a catheterization today. There were three children on the cath schedule, and the first cath took so long that unfortunately there was no time left for Aya. So Aya returned to Gaza this afternoon. The hospital confirmed that she will be put back on the cath schedule as soon as possible.

It is not easy to cross into Israel from Gaza. Due to high gas prices, families are sometimes forced to pay large sums of money just to get from their house to the border. Please pray that Aya and her mother won't have trouble coming out a second time and that her next cath will be successful.

New Hope as Aya Reaches Israel

Aya arrived to the hospital this morning from Gaza. She is 17 years old and had heart surgery when she was five. She cannot go to school nor leave her house because of her heart problems. Aya was accompanied by her mother who we thought was her sister because she looks so young.

Please pray for this young lady. I cant imagine how difficult it must be for her to be so young and yet so limited in her activities. The doctors believe that this heart surgery will really help her. She seems like a very sweet young lady. God has come to give us life! Let's pray that He gives her a new heart and a new life. Thank you all for being a part of her new chance at life.
