Noora 's Heart Surgery

the Gaza Strip

A Special Diet

Noora is recovering from her heart surgery in the ICU and doing well. Today the doctors spoke with her mother about a special diet to help her, and as I visited they were in process of helping her know just how to put the new food plan together. Noora was sitting up in bed both yesterday and today, but she is very quiet in her recuperation. She was thirsty today and was able to drink from a cup, but shortly afterward vomited and was being attended when I left the ICU. Her mom is very thoughtful and caring toward the other moms even while tending her daughter. She graciously shared a huge plate of makluba yesterday with all the other mothers and included me in the gathering. Please pray for this little girl and her mother. We hope she will soon be released from the ICU on her way to a full recovery.

Recovering in the ICU AfterSurgery

This morning I went to Wolfson expecting Noora, the little girl from Gaza, to have surgery and found she had had her surgery last Thursday. She was sleeping but the ICU staff told me she was doing well. Noora has had a two stage operation to create a right side to her heart and this was the second and final stage complete. Now we pray for the healing of this complicated heart surgery. Please pray for this little girl who needs a touch from the Lord to become completely well.

Her mother was very concerned and happy I could explain to her in Arabic what had been done to her daughter.

A Ray Of Light From Gaza

Noora ("light" in Arabic) arrived with her mother late yesterday afternoon for surgery early next week. She is a happy little girl from Gaza City. Please pray for her as she prepares for her heart surgery and settles into the ward. Her bed is next to Havan. The two mothers have become friends and can encourage each other.
