Experiencing Gratitude

Today’s visit to Leen was so in the Lord’s timing. When we arrived, Leen was just about to go for an echo exam. Her grandmother was so welcoming to us and was taking such good care of Leen. You could see in the way she gently changed her and bundled her up that she loved Leen very much. The echo doctor informed us that Leen already had a balloon dilation performed and her heart was looking good! She would be discharged home that day! We went back to her hospital room and she had one more check-up from another doctor.

The other mom in the room spoke English and was very sweet to help translate for Leen's grandmother. She helped explain that she would be going back to Gaza within the hour and Grandma was very pleased to hear this! It was so fun to get to know Leen in her first few weeks of life. She is the cutest baby and seeing her grandmother’s love was inspiring.

We would love for you to join us in prayer for their family’s reunion tonight and for continued good health for Leen. During our visit, we got to Skype her mother on the grandma's phone. She expressed her gratitude greatly. She mentioned how thankful she was that we did not discriminate against anyone and were willing to take any child in to get treatment. We pray that this testimony will continue to touch her and her family’s heart and for her to know that this love we have is from the Lord!

Meet Baby Leen

Last night Leen arrived by ambulance from Gaza to Sheba at just one week old! She was peacefully sleeping when I arrived to see her today. She is big for a newborn which is good considering where her health is.

We are still waiting to hear the plan from the doctors as to when her operation will be. Her grandmother was very friendly and loving towards her granddaughter. We were able to connect and bond through our limited words from google translate as well as translation from the nurse.

Praise the Lord Leen is able to be worked on at Sheba. Be praying for wisdom for the plan for the doctors and that she will be able to be operated on soon.
